Two stars

Two stars

A flash of light,
Once blinded me at night,
That shone from your face,
And brought such delight;

Lilies could not be fairer,
Or roses as red,
For your beauty is infinite,
An angel once said;

Outside I ventured,
Through the storms and the cold,
To behold your body,
Until it grew old;

Long I gazed and wondered,
Awkward in awe,
That paramount perfection,
Was what I saw;

That bright young star,
Fell from the sky,
That beckoned a faithful promise,
That it would never die;

Together they stood,
Hand in hand as one,
They walked the world with hope and faith,
A fairy tale had begun;

So then it was forever,
Their hearts became entwined,
And for all of eternity,
Both stars lived and shined.
